Abi is the Director Disaster Preparedness & Response for the NCCTRC and an Intensive Care Paramedic. Abi began her Paramedic training in Yulara and Alice Springs after leaving a career in Hotel Management she holding qualifications from both the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School, Leura NSW and IHTTI Neuchatel Switzerland.

She has worked across the Northern Territory including a two year remote area posting in the McArthur River district. She has a Bachelor of Health Science and Post Graduate qualifications in Paramedic Practice. She is currently completing a Masters in Public health with JCU.

Her role in the centre includes management of AUSMAT personnel, course facilitation to the AUSMAT training program and the Remote Pre-hospital Disaster course and the daily operational requirements of AUSMAT NT.

Abi worked in the East Timor crisis, Bali bombings response and was deployed as a paramedic to Pakistan in 2010 and the Philippines 2013 in the AUSAID civilian medical team. In between day to day centre operations AusMAT training courses Abi continues to work on road as a casual ICP with St John Ambulance NT.
