REMOTE AREA TRAUMA EDUCATION (RATE)- BORROLOOLA NT0016
This one-day course is designed to improve emergency skills and trauma care prior to aero-medical retrieval. It is aimed at remote health personnel, particularly general practitioners. Remote Area Nurses (RANs) and Aboriginal Health Practitioners (AHPs). This training is provided in their town environment, in remote clinics across the Top End, with an emphasis on practical skills, small interactive groups and locally relevant scenarios.
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Effectively assess and manage trauma patients whilst waiting for aero-medical retrieval.
- Prevent any further complications following a trauma.
It consists of lectures, skills stations and practical scenarios.
